External relationships

can i link an inserted Project with an existing project.
eg.Building a House as the Main project, and Electricity as a mini project.
electricity is a Project that i inserted in Building a House. when i try to
create a link in electricity i see only tasks in that Mini project ( using
the Split window) is there a faster way except opening both projects and
creating the relationships.
i tried using the Link tasks button, i get the FS relationship then i have
to go and change the ralationship again its still a long way.

I bliv in you guys cheers.

sekweles,
Humm, I don't know whether "bliv" is good or bad. Should we be concerned?

Yes tasks in two different projects can be linked. That's what the
external link feature is all about. There are various way to set up
links between projects. One common method is to put both projects into a
master (i.e. Insert/Project) and then manually drag the link between
them. You could also multi-select both tasks and hit the "link" icon. Or
if you feel brave, you could type the full path into the Predecessor
field, but that is prone to typing error.

The split (or Arrange All) window approach doesn't work because only one
pane can be active at a time.

When a dragged link or one created with the link button is created it
will always be the default, "finish-to-start" - that's the only thing
that makes sense. By typing the actual path into the Predecessor field
the user can of course create any link type.
