Extra carriage return when importing a file

I am importing MS WORD files in a blank page and every file adds a carriage
return to each line. Is there a setting that will turn this off?

Importing Word docs drags along all the word formatting which is not clean html

Choose Paste Special in FP and choose the best option for you.

Or paste to Notepad (to remve formatting), then paste from Notepad.
