Extra line before signature in replies or forwards

Hello,

I have a problem where my signature appears fine in new
email, but there seems to be an extra line before the
signature in replies or forwards. For example, where a
new email might end with:

Thanks,
Brian

[Signature]

A reply or forward would look like:

Thanks,
Brian


[Signature]

Does anyone know why this happens or how to fix it? I
get tired of hitting [DEL] on replies and forwards to
shore-up that extra line. Also, this seems to happen on
HTML replies only, not on plain text.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. If you want to
reply to me directly, remove the capital letters from my
email address.
