I need to investigate some problem with my outlook 2007 on windows vista

Is there a way to require extensive logging from Outlook?

Thanks

Depends on the problem you are trying to solve and which mail environment
you are in. You can enable logging if you are trying to look into
connectivity issues.

Robert,

I am struggling with my Outlook sometimes looping indefinitely when (trying
to) sending emails without managing to send that particular email.
The bizarre thing is that it can still manage to send a further email while
still looping on the first one. From the little icone flicking, it looks like
it is struggling while trying to "synchronise folders"....

My environment is
- Windows Vista
- Outlook 2007
- Data Files shared with a Win XP mahcine in 97-2000 format

Start with stopping to do that. Connecting to a pst-file on a network share
is not supported, nor recommended by Microsoft. Keep your pst-file locally
and check it for errors with scanpst.exe.

Additionally, if you have a virus scanner that integrates with Outlook,
disable this integration and try again.

Damn, that's really bad news...

In our family, we have a couple of PCs that we use without one being
dedicated to anyone in particular.
For that reason, it was really handy to use pst files in a shared location
and it has been fine for years.

Any idea how I could find where the looping occurs just in case the share is
not the issue?

Thanks

As I said, the looping can also occur because of your virus scanner
integration. Still, sharing a pst-file wouldn't be a good idea even when no
errors were found in your pst-file.

There are some 3rd party tools that allow you to share data without Exchange
like

and
