Extra Outlook icon in system tray

I have Outlook 2003 and it worked perfectly until I added my IPaq. Now I have
an "extra" outlook icon in my system tray that is always there (Icon is in
2000 format) and when I click on it, it gives me the error of "The Operation
Failed". I think it has something to do with the ActiveSync, but I'm not
sure. Sometimes I will get multiple "extra" icons and one day I ended with
five! Does anyone know what the problem could be and what we can do to fix it?

ActiveSync will hold Outlook open in such a way that clicking on the icon
will fail to bring up the user interface. Best suggestion is to turn off
the iPaq or pull it from the cradle before shutting Outlook down.

ps - this means, no permanent fix.
