Extra pages in report -- elements too wide?

I have a report that I started editing and after changing things around a
bit, found that on opening it I got a message, "The section width is greater
than the page width, and there are no items in the additional space, so some
pages may be blank.
For example, the report width may be wider than the page width."

And that in fact happened. But I can see no elements that are wider than the
printed elements, and on printout I am getting multiple extra pages.

I'm tearing my heir trying to find where something is too wide. I have only
Report Header, Details and a blank footer. There is a page break in the
middle.

Thanks in advance.

Might there be a horizontal line?

Try to track the right-hand edge of the report to the left to make it
narrower. Access won't let you go narrower than the right-most right-hand
edge of a control. Once you've dragged as much as it'll let you, put your
mouse cursor into the ruler at the top of the report as far to the right as
you can. That will select all objects below the mouse: hopefully that'll
help you determine what's there.

Don:

It’s the width of the report design area, plus the left and right margin
settings, which is what matters. If this exceeds the page width then it
doesn't matter whether there are any controls within the extra design area or
not.

Reduce the width of the design area in design view and/or the left and/or
right margin settings for the page. I have to do this frequently with
reports received from the USA because of the difference between US and
European standard paper sizes. In most cases I find that reducing the right
margin is enough.

That was simpler to repair than to write about. Thanks to both of you. I'm
printing out these pages to save.

It was in fact the width of the page, itself.

I can't quite get next to how the pages are intended by Access, but having a
page 8.5" wide doesn't always seem to cut it.

Thanks very much, narrowing the page worked a treat.
