Extracting a file from a folder

In My Documents I put a file inside a folder. Now I would prefer to take that
file out of the folder and have it below the folders in my list of files. How
can I do this? I know if I delete the folder, everything will be gone. This
is a large file I use every day to make a video CD from. I'm sure there is an
easy way to do this but I can't figure it out.

This is not a Microsoft Office question, which is what this group deals
with.

That said, you can just drag the file from the folder it's in and drop it
onto "My Documents." That puts it in the "My Documents" folder directly, so
it will show up below the folders in your list of files.
