Extraction of Links from Office Documents

Hi,

Given a office document Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc., how
can I extract the links inserted into these documents
programatically

The possible inserted objects may be a text file
(.txt), .jpg, .pdf or any othere Office documents.

These objects are linked to these office documents using
Insert -> Object menu command(link to file option)

Please suggest.
