extranet access via firewall port mapping

Hi.

We have Project Server 2003 running in intranet at https://proj . We have firewall with external ports mapped to various internal services, e.g. https://firewall.domain.com:455/exchange brings you to internal Exchange server WebAccess page.

We want to access PWA from extranet as https://firewall.domain.com:457. So we made the mapping on our firewall: https://firewall.domain.com:457 -> https://proj. We checked PWA settings and set: server intranet address: https://proj/ProjectServer, server extranet address: https://firewall.domain.com:457.

Well, actually we can access PWA as https://firewall.domain.com:457/ProjectServer/ now. But almost in all links port address is lost, e.g. "Actions:home page" link points to "https://firewall.domain.com/ProjectServer/Home/HomePage.asp?_oid=-1", "Admin" link in menu points to "https://firewall.domain.com/ProjectServer/Admin/Admin.asp?_oid=-1". Though "Tasks" link from the middle of the homepage points to "https://firewall.domain.com:457/ProjectServer/Tasks/TasksPage.asp

So, "extranet address" settings work in general, but some links loose ":457" suffix. Half of the links on the page are broken.

Anybody have any ideas about this trouble?

We have had the exact same problem and were unable to resole this in PWA
itself. If you are using Microsoft's ISA Server 2004 as your firewall (we
are currently using the beta version) you can publish your project server
site and add a rule on all outgoing traffic to substitute
https://firewall.domain.com/ with https://firewall.domain.com:457/. This way
your external port number is allways presented correctly in your browser
session.

Kind regards,
Ton
