f/page hyperlinks to local file sometimes won't open

When using frontpage 2000, sometimes local hyperlinks to local files will not
open. The file was selected using insert hyperlink . . . and is visible (in
the status bar) when the "hand" appears when hovering over the link; however,
nothing opens orhappens - system appears to completely ignore fact that you
have left clicked. I have several other areas where this works on the same
pc, but for some reason occasionally this is the result and I can't figure
out what casuses it. Any ideas. Thanks

Are you talking about in the Preview pane?
Use; File | Preview in Browser

No - I can preview, ctrl click to follow link etc and all is well. When I
save and then use I/E to open the main html, at that point the link does not
open. Everything looks fine, but it just will not open. When creating in
F/P 2000, all goes well and appears just fine. Once done, is when the
problem happens.
I have done this many times and created many web pages that open links
(usually docs) on the local pc. Once in a while, this will happen with a
page and I'm lost as to reason. Thanks
