Fade Transition Choppy

I designed a slideshow on Powerpoint for Mac OSX. It runs perfectly on the Mac. Unfortunately, I need it to run on PCs as I am giving out 75 disks with the presentation to pc users. When I tested it on the PC, all of my Quicktime Fade transitions disappeared. So, I changed them using the Smooth Fade feature on the PC version of Powerpoint (I am running Windows XP). When I ran the show, the fades looked choppy and not nearly as nice as the Mac ones. The graphics are fairly large in the presentation (i.e., lots of detail -- this cannot be adjusted as it is key for the information being presented). Any suggestions of how to make this fade run more smoothly?
