Fades in 2002?

I Built a PPT in 2003 with a bunch of fades from image to image...works
great. But I played it on a computer with PPT 2000 and the fades were all
cuts. Does anyone know if the fades will play properly in ver 2002? I don't
have a computer with 2002 on it.

Yes, the fades will be displayed properly in PPT 2002. The versions 2002
and 2003 are very similar.

They will not play on a computer with PPT 2000, because they were only
introduced in 2002. On a machine with 2000 you might want to use the free

Hello,

When Microsoft launch new versions of software (in this case - office) some
of the features (such as effects) change. You cannot actually open a
Powerpoint Presentation in an older version than the one you created it in,
unless when you saved it you told it to save as a PowerPoint 2000
Presentation.

If you would like to open it in 2000 i suggest you do the following.

Open your presentation in 2003 and then re-save it as a 2000 presentation.
This should work.

How to say this politely... Umm - Don't do this! All PPT files since PPT97
have the same file structure. If you backsave your presentations, you are
actually saving to the 1995 version of PPT which had no compression.

There are features of PPT 2002 and later that do not work with PPT 2000 and
earlier. These features include the newer animations and the ability to have
multiple masters. If you are building presentations that will be run in the
older versions, you should consider going to the Edit tab of Tools-->
Options to turn off the newer features. (Another option is to make sure that
the people who do not have the newer versions can run the PPT 2003 Viewer
and distribute your presentations with that.)
