Fading a song on a slide

Is there a way to make a song fade after a few seconds when using it for a
slide? Thanks for any info.

PowerPoint just plays what you give it. You can use some audio editing software
like Audacity to build in the fade. Audacity is free - -

Thank you, Sonia. After playing around with this the last two hours, I was
finally beginning to wonder if I would have to edit the file before adding it
