fading background colour

Hi again,
A couple of weeks ago I asked why I couldn't print to the
edge of the paper on a catalogue I was doing for a school
project. Now I'm back in school I've checked & none of
their printers 'print to the edge' either.
I don't want to guillotine if I can avoid it so is there a
way of fading colour in from the white border to a deeper
colour in the centre please? It's set to landscape & I'm
dividing the page in 1/2, printing on both sides & then
folding it.
Sorry to be such a pain but I'm trying to get it to look
good!!

Create a textbox, right-click and select format. Display the Fill Color
drop-down; select Fill Effects. Experiment with the gradient fills.
