Family tree diagram in Word?

If you're looking for a standard pedigree chart, I find you can create one
fairly easily using a massive table. It helps to start with a printed one to
analyze (figure out how many rows and columns you need); then just apply or
remove borders selectively to get the desired appearance.

Anyone have a simple family tree diagram I can use in Word?

Or check out "Insert > Chart".
In particular, for a "family business", the org chart ;-)

It takes a while to get the hang of it, but using the toolbar and with a bit of practice, it should be entirely possible to create a family tree.

<g> I thought so too, at first, since I couldn't help myself and started fudging with the connectors, sizes ...
But it can be easy as pie, if you only use the toolbar and don't try to meddle "by hand".

I haven't had much experience with the organization chart--have only played
with it a bit--but what experience I have had has been discouraging. In any
case, wouldn't it be upside-down for a family tree?

Better to get genealogy software such as Roots Magic or Legacy Family Tree.
You can download a free version of Legacy and, I believe, a trial version of
Roots Magic

Gordo.

I don't know... The template that Garfield linked to has the parents at the bottom, too.

Genealogy isn't that popular over here (probably since trees would tend to get unwieldly, going back to Eden instead of Plymouth Rock).
