Hi Stephen,
Findfast was discontinued after Office 2000 and didn't run
on Windows 2000. It's possible that Office has activated
the Windows Indexing Service for Office 'Fast Searching'
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;282106&FR=1
Disabling or uninstalling the Windows XP Indexing Service
component is one of the 'common' tweaks suggested for some
speed improvement.

Hi Bob
No icon in control panel!
The reason I am going down this path is I am having problems with my PC
slowing down over time
It was suggested in another newsgroup to try this course of action
Does no icon mean Fast Find is not enabled?
Regards
