Fast search on sorted column

Hi everybody,
in Outlook 2003 tableviews it's possible to jump to a item in the sorted
column by typing the first 1 or 2 letters. For example if I would look for
"Steve Hanson" I would type "S" and "T" fast and I would jump to the first
item starting with "ST" but...
sometimes (very often actually) Outlook jump to the first item starting with
"T" when I typing the secound letter. Does anybody have a fix for that?

It depends on how fast you type. When it stops working for you what does it
make it work for you again? Trying again, restarting Outlook, restarting the
PC, etc... When it stops working does it break for other applications like
Explorer as well?

Thanks for fast reply.

Sometimes clicking the column header to turn to sorting kind of resets the
buffer or whatever it is. Sometimes just typing the same letters again
multiple times suddenly makes it work again. Very anoyning if you depends on
this search 400 times a day as our telephonist does. -Molberg
