Fatal error during installation

I am trying to set up one of our desktops so that 2 people
can login and use it at different times. The office suite
(Word, Excel, etc) works fine for one user or the
administrator, but the other user receives the
error "Fatal Error During Installation" when trying to run
these programs. The Application event log shows Source:
MsiInstaller, Event ID: 1004 and the message "The resource
c:\programfiles\ms office\office\winword.exe does not
exist." Eventhough it does. MS Office was installed
locally while logged in as administrator from a network
folder. Our desktops are connected to a Windows 2000
Server and users profiles are kept on the server.

Thank you in advance,

Tom

Hi, tomh,

You don't mention what operating system is on your desktops.

When you say it was installed from a network folder, was the CD copied to a
network folder, or did you create an administrative installation point using
setup /a?

Another question: in your logfile, does it really have the spacing you
indicate? "programfiles" and "ms office"? Is that how you have set up your
folder names?
