Favorites in Outlook 2003?

What are the favorites for in Outlook 2003?

I see that they duplicate my inbox and a feother folders so I just
removed them (I guess a default) from the list.

The browser opens in Outlook as well, so you open your favorite websites
without closing Outlook and opening IE.
