Hi All,

We have an VB application that sends faxes through MAPI/Outlook using
the MAPI session/message controls.

The address is prefixed as [Fax:XXXXXXXX] where XXXXXXX is the fax
number to send to.

This was working fine through Win2KSR3/Outlook 2000 SR1 with the fax
transport routing the faxes through a local fax modem.

We have since updated the system to XP SR2/Outlook 2003 and are routing
the fax transport through the shared fax on an SBS.

Sending a test fax manually in outlook using the [Fax:XXXXXXXXXX] format
works fine, the e-mail goes out, the fax is sent on the SBS server and
we get back a message at the XP machine telling us the fax sent
successfully.

But sending the fax message through the MAPI controls result in the fax
not being sent and the following message returned to Outlook:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: E-MAIL FROM XXXXXXXX
Sent: 02/11/2004 14:41

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'0XXXXXXXXXXXX' on 02/11/2004 14:41
The message could not be delivered because the recipient's
destination email system is unknown or invalid. Please check the address
and try again, or contact your system administrator to verify
connectivity to the email system of the recipient.

<sbs.domain #5.1.2>

(Phone Numbers etc removed)

Anybody any ideas where the problem is occurring? Anybody have an idea
for a work around?

Or even if I should be trying a different news groups with this question?

Thanks for any help!

Shane
