Faxing from Microsoft Office using the HP All-in-one fax software

I can't fax a Word Document using the HP all-in-one Fax icon, or when using
Send To Recipient using a fax modem (in the File menu), although I select
this fax from the drop down menu. I can get the fax wizard to appear, and I
go through all of the steps, but the receipient never receives the fax. When
I select the HP fax as the printer, the print dialigue box that appears in
exactly the same as for any other printer, it does not offer any fax number
imput.

I have never used one of these all-in-one devices, but does it work as a
conventional fax modem to send unprinted documents by fax? I assumed they
worked like a fax machine? If it does work like a fax modem, then you may
have to setup Windows fax software (not included with some versions of
Vista) to provide the fax function. The people to ask are HP as it is their
kit and software you are using.

Unless HP provides a "Send to Fax" printer driver for this device, you
cannot use it to send faxes from your computer. The Windows Fax service,
all flavors from AtWork Fax supplied with Windows 95 through Fax and Scan
for Vista, can ONLY use an analog Fax modem, it cannot use an All-In-One
device.
