faxing from word 2000

When I try to send a fax from word 2000, I get an message error occured
during loading. Any suoggestions.

Can you fax from any application?

I can fax from the fax console. I thought I should be able to send a fax
directly from word to a regular fax using the send to fax button. When I do
I get a popup
screen microsoft visula basic that says error occured during loading.--
