Field Code

I cannot save or copy a field code from word 2003. I am trying to use dollar text.

I type it out, it works, but when I try to copy, nothing copies. If I save and close, when I re-open, the space with the field code is blank.

Can you describe exactly what you're doing?

When copying, are field codes displayed, or are field results displayed?

What kind of field codes are you trying to copy?

Have you tried selecting the copied field and pressing F9 to update it after
copying it?
