Field codes

I am trying to insert some Field Codes but when i hit Ctrl
+ f9 to see the field codes there in my doc but nothing is
showing up ( Like were dos the LastSavedBy go to) nothing
show on my screen?

Hi, JB,

The Ctrl+F9 keystroke inserts an empty pair of field braces, which you can
then fill in with code. I think you want Alt+F9 instead, to display the
field codes for all fields that are already in the document.

For most purposes you may be better served by the Insert > Field dialog. The
only time you really need Ctrl+F9 is to insert nested fields (that is, one
field inside another).
