Field data lost in importing Contacts .. why?

When importing contactmaster from PC with Win 98 2nd version into PC with Win
2000, randomly certain fields in certain Contacts are missing in the process.
Both PC's are using Office 2000. Is this because of different operating
systems?

What do you mean?
What is "contactmaster?"
If you are talking about Outlook, why are you importing at all?
Just copy and open your Outlook data file. Importing loses data.
