I'm new to using a Mac & Entourage. I copied the contact data files from my Windows PC as a CSV file. In Entourage, I clicked on File, Import, Contacts, Contacts, selected the CSV file and at this point I get totally lost with mapped and unmapped fields. I've tried to follow the instructions but whichever way I import the data, it appears in all the wrong fields. I'd hate to have to retype over 2000 entries. Help!

I'm new to using a Mac & Entourage. I copied the contact data files
from my Windows PC as a CSV file. In Entourage, I clicked on File,
Import, Contacts, Contacts, selected the CSV file and at this point I

That dialog may seem confusing but what it's doing is very simple.

Open your CSV file in Excel. The top row of your CSV file contains your
column headers such as "First Name", "Last Name", "Addresses", etc.

Every row after that is one contact in your address book.

When you go to Entourage to import your CSV file, the dialog window is
asking you to tell Entourage which information goes into which field of
a new contact record.

If your CSV file has a header called "Phone" and Entourage has a header
called "Phone Number", Entourage will ask you in this dialog window to
say that. Unfortunately, software isn't always smart enough to know the
two items are the same. You have to tell it.

If you haven't already, search for "Import information into Entourage"
in Entourage Help under the Help menu.

Hope this helps!
