1. Create a new field in your table called CurrencyFromText, and make it
Numeric Single.
2. Create an Update query that takes the text value (like [TextCurrency] =
"37.54") and update the CurrencyFromText field by using...
=Val([TextCurrency])
Now, you've converted the old TextCurrency text to numeric values into
CurrencyFromText field, so you can delete the old TextCurrency from the
table.

I dont have the right syntax here, but check in your help the "Alter Table"
you can add fields, remove fields, change fields type.

My earlier answer was if you want to change the type in a table.
if you want to change a type of a variable from text to currency you should
use the CCur function
CCur(nz(MyVariable,0))
