Fields

I am new to Office Enterprise 2007; I'm working with the Access Program. I
want to add data in the pull down menu within a specific field. In earlier
editions I would go to the design layout and enter the additional informaiton
in the appropriate field using " "; but I can't figure out how to do it in
the 2007 edition, and I am unable to find the proper way to ask how to do
this through help and support. Please advise.

I am not much of a computer wiz / "language challenged". But I would say the
answer to your question is "YES". I'd go into the property table of the
specific field I was trying to expand, and type into the list of descriptions
the new options, e.g. "science fiction".

Then when I'd go into my form view of the dbase, when I came to that field,
e.g. 'type of movie', I could open the "pull down" menu and click on "science
fiction".

I can't figure out how to do this with Vista.

Does this help?

I don't think your question has anything to do with Vista, so I'll assume
you meant to say Access 2007. Try this tutorial, except in the image shown
with paragraph 4, select the option button that reads "I will type in the
values that I want".

Also, scroll down approx. 4/5 of the way to the topic "Value list-based
lookup column", "Change a lookup column" and "Change a field to a lookup
column".

Tom,
You are correct in your assumption; I appologize for the misleading
wording. My question did in deed have to do with Access 2007 and not Vista.
We bought a new computer a couple months ago with Vista loaded on it, and we
bought Microsoft 2007 at the same time, so I default in my thinking by making
the two synonymous, which of course they aren't.

Your suggested Microsoft link was very helpful and did the trick. I wasn't
even sure how to seek out the right answer through the Microsoft web site,
so I greatly appreciate your persisitance and help.

You do deserve the MVP title.

Thank you again.
