Is there a way to open a Works 8.0 file in Word 2003?

I had tried that initially, but the conversion capability appears to only
support Works 6.0 and 7.0. The only downloadable conversion update does not
address Works 8.0.

Try recover text from any file in the files of type. Can be messy.

Publisher seems to be able to open Works 8.0 files.
If you don't have Publisher, send the file to me and I will give it a try.

The file had a .xlr extension. For a lark I tried opening it in Excel. It
actually worked. I then copied the Excel text to Word. Go figure.
