Since I run Norton AV Corporate, I had upgraded my servers
to version 8.0 not knowing that my workstations were still
running version 7.6. I upgraded everything to 8.1 and no
longer have the problem that so many still describe.
The normal.dot issue is easily resolved by deleting the
~normal.dot after doing a search on normal.* Do not
delete the normal.dot file unless you want to recreate
your office settings anew. Rename it instead.
