File format awareness update

Peter

I have Office 2007 beta on one computer and need to be able to open the 2007
office files on another computer running Windows XP and Office 2003. Both
Windows and Office 2003 are fully up to date.
When I run the File Format Awareness Update on the Office 2003 computer I
receive the message "Expected version of the product was not found on your
system". What am I missing? (The Compatibility Pack installs without any
problem.}

Hi Peter,

I don't know. It might be that the awareness update needs to be
installed before the compatibility pack?
Anyhow, I would highly recommend not to use those two programs on your
Office 2003 computer. They are currently beta and hence not problem
free. You are better off saving the files in Office 2007 in the 97-2003
file formats.

Thanks Patrick.
It doesn't matter what file format I choose to save the 2007 documents.
Whatever the format, Office 2003 still only shows a collection of Greek
letters or just meaningless characters. No one else can open them either.
