File Formated incorrectly due to corrupt tables

I created a research paper in Microsoft Word with Word
tables and excel
tables inserted in the document and saved it to a disk.
Now when I open the
file, it first states that there is a table in my document that needs formatting
and that I should find the table and do so. But when I click OK, it comes
back with an error saying "Windows - Unknown Disk
Format The disk in drive A: is not formatted
properly" . It
has nothing to do with the disk, because all of my other
documents open
with no problems. This is the only copy I have of this
report and I can't
open it. Is there a way to extract the text without the
tables? Is there a
fix that I can use to correct the problem? It has
something to do with the tables that I added...I'm
positive.

Have you tried to copy the document to your hard disk and open it from
there? Word needs a lot of space for its temporary files, space that
you probably don't have on your floppy disk. Always work with a Word
document on your hard disk, and then copy it to the floppy (using
Windows Explorer) if you need a copy of the file.
