not sure what troubleshooting you have gone thru, but i
would start by ensuring the path to the files is good by
starting windows explorer and drilling down to the folder
where the files are. then double-click to see if it will
open it that way. if is still does not open, i would try
to open another file type, such as a picture or something
with its associated program, to make sure there is no
problem with the physical disk where the info is stored.
make sure you copy the file to the same folder where the
word files are. you may be able to see the directory
structure, but the actual files are hosed. wierder things
have happened! if the other files opens ok, i would make
sure there are no macro type viruses, which probably
should be the first thing to do. that is a start anyway
and you can eliminate a few possible issues it could be.
