We have three computers networked together. Two are working on window
98 with Office 97. The third was Office 97 and Windows ME. Our wor
files were based on a 4 digit with certain extensions being fo
invoices, purchse orders etc. With the original configuration, When w
open the folder listing, the 4 digit files (and those with extensions
would remain grouped together. Now with XP computer, it varies a
follows:
3900hnt
360401cert
370601inv
There may be a few more files within there, but this represents a
ascending order for the folder. The strange thing is that the othe
two computers, networked to this one can go to this same folder, an
still have it in the proper order. I believe the problem is that th
sort command for the folder is attempting to read this as a number an
not an alpha. The question is "where is the setting?" And what shoul
the setting be? (I am assuming alpha)
