Does anyone know of a way to show which drive you on when you are working on
a document in Office 2003. For example where the name of the document shows
can it say 'D:folder/file name" ?

You can utilize the Address bar from the Web toolbar for this. You can
either display the Web toolbar and use it "as is" or add the Address control
to the empty space next to the right of your menu bar or wherever you'd like
using these steps:
- Right-click any toolbar and turn on the Web toolbar
- Press <Ctrl Alt> and drag the Address bar to the empty area to the right
of your menu bar

To resize the Address bar:
- Right-click any Toolbar and select Customize
- Click the Address bar to select it
- Place your cursor on the right edge and drag it until the Address bar
fills the empty space

assistance by email cannot be acknowledged.

Why not use an autotext entry - path&filename
if you want it from code you could try 'Thisdocument.path'
