file locations

I have a Windows 2000 Server.

It has two network cards in, hosting two different sites.

When I am in Front Page 2002 and I open a web by using http://www.mysite.com
it prompts for my password, I put it in and can work fine. When I go to a
place to change the background, insert a hyperlink, etc., It comes up with
all the folders, files, etc. listed in the file box window.

However, when I open my other site, such as http://support.mysite.com and
try to do the same thing, the file box window comes up blank, it just says
http://support.mysite.com and I'm unable to browse, etc.

I checked the shares on the server, and they appear to be the same.

Also, everything was working fine last week. I did make some changes in
DNS/WINS, so I'm not sure if it might be related to that. I tried undoing
what I did, but it doesn't seem to help.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Glenn

You really on need to have a single network card, as you can add as many IPs ad needed to a single
card.

You should have shares enabled for the folder holding the webs, as you would under IIS associated
the IP with the correct web.

I have compared the two folders side by side and they are identical. when i
open up www.mysite.com in Front Page and then try to ad a link, picture,
etc. I get a list of all the folders, files, etc.

However, when I go test.mysite.com (to the other website I have) I only get
the name of the folder, and am unable to browse the others.

In my original reply, the last paragraph:

"You should have shares enabled for the folder holding the webs, as you would under IIS associated
the IP with the correct web."

Should have read as:

"You shouldn't have shares enabled for folders holding the webs, you would just under IIS set the IP
that is associated with the correct web."

Now on to your question/issue:

When working with subdomains, such as "test.mysite.com" with FP extensions, it best to set it up as
a subweb, such as www.mysite.com/test and then open or publish from FP to it, then in your DNS
settings, point "test.mysite.com" to "www.mysite.com/test"
