an underscore seems to be the most common. you should avoid spaces in file
names for more than just search engine reasons.

I don't understand. You mean "fish lips.html" as opposed to
"fishlips.html"? You should never use spaces in filenames, with the web in
general in mind (not just SEO). Letters, numbers (as long as they are not
the first character), hypens, and underscores are all you should have. In
addition, all lower case is a good rule of thumb, too.

Never use spaces - from an SEO standpoint use a dash, eg

Don't go here

Although this is going to have very little impact - the url itself isn't a
big factor.

It depends on what your are doing, how your are using FP, etc. I have rarely had a problem with
using any version of FP since FP98, doing something that it shouldn't or I didn't expect.

with people having problems, and not all of them are caused by user error, your experience seems to be
unique. Also, I notice you said "rarely". Also, I seem to remember you mentioning that you still use
FP2000 for your work, and therefore have limited experience with '02 and none with '03. I stand by my
statement.

Tom Pepper Willett
While he may still use FP2000 (for specific reasons) he runs FP 2002 and
2003 on a separate machine in order to use them for troubleshooting in the
FP newsgroups.
You're second-guessing ;-)

installed, and I can open and work on any site that I have designed in either.

I can do without the condescending attitude, thank you. Problems are not always
caused by user error. Computers and software do not always work right. If they
did there'd be much less need for these newsgroups, and while I'd miss the
community here, the world would be a much happier place.

of the time." It obviously doesn't. FP's Photo Gallery component is an obvious example, as even a
cursory glance of a few days' worth of posting here will attest.

The photo gallery works fine for most users of FP (those of us that post here, are just a small
number of the user base) or MS would have change it from FP2002 or left it out of FP2003.
