I have an .mdb file on a shared directory on the network. When multiple
users try to open the file, the second user gets a "File Not Found" (+ path
of .mdb file) error message after MS Access executes. So the file won't open.
This happens when the .mdb file is opened outside of Access (ie.
double-clicking on the file, clicking on a link to the file, running it from
the command line, etc.) It does not happen if Access is already open, you
use the file->open menu option. It also does not happen if you try to open
the file twice using the same computer.
This has happened with a number of other Access databases also. Other
developers are saying that the problem didn't happen in Windows 2000, but has
happened since they upgraded to Windows XP. I am having this problem using
Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 1, and Microsoft Access
2000 (9.0.6926 SP-3).
Is this an outstanding bug with this version of Access? Any help would
really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan
