File Open Dialog Freezes Powerpoint

When I try and use the "File Open" dialog PowerPoint 2003 freezes and I get
"Program Not Responding" when the folder opens. This seems to be independent
of the folder or file.

I can open files by double-clicking them just fine.

ideas?

Are you connected to a network? Or (more likely) were you connected to a
network, but you aren't now? It sounds like when PPT is trying to open files
it can't find one of the drives it thinks you are mapped to.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.
