file permission error for normal.dot when exiting word

I was thinking of completely uninstalling office and reinstalling all of the 2003 business edition to get this problem to go away. I also want to restore my outlook addresses and emails after the reinstall to get back my old emails and addresses I saved into the .pst backups

If you have Norton AV, can I suggest you disable its Office plug-in before
doing anything so rash.
Word is designed to maintain personalisations over a reinstall. Uninstalling
should not remove them, so you may not get anywhere with this plan.
If you have the outlook PST file, you have all your addresses.
