File: Print causes Word Failure on MAC 10.5

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

The file print function on Word and Powerpoint causes the programs to immediately close in error. I can print by clicking the quick print icon, but for obvious reasons, this is not always preferable. Any advice?
