File Search

The File Search utility built into Office 2003 does not
seem to work for me. I use Word the most, and can't find
documents that I know exist. I have tried all of
Microsoft's recommendations, to no avail. I have tried
searching both by file name (my preferred method) and by
text.

Anyone else experiencing this problem, or with any
suggestions?

I long ago gave up on the File Search in Word beyond Word 97. Try using
Search in Windows Explorer instead. You can search for text in the documents
as well as filenames, dates, etc. If you need to search for document
properties such as keywords, you're stuck with Word's Search function.
