This is the optimisation page for BizTalk. A Biztalk server
may be many things, including being a highly loaded server
which does file sharing.
There is a lot of stuff there. Most of the stuff there comes
as no surprise (beware of AV software). Some of it is
not always relevant (turn off hyperthreading when using
sql server), but some of it is new to me:
"Change registry settings to maximize server service
performance [on a SMB server]":
"The MaxWorkItems value specifies the maximum number
of receive buffers, or work items, the Server service is permitted
to allocate at one time. If this limit is reached, then the transport
must initiate flow control, which can significantly reduce
performance."
Even apart from the new stuff, this has got more stuff
about server optimisation for Access/Jet database systems
than any other place I've seen.
