the doc? If a 3rd user opens the doc, does it say "Cat" or "Dog"??

One thing that's possible would be to have a kind of multi-user "tracked
changes" document where each users edits are in a different color, but
it's bad enough with one person working on it at a time, let alone two.

There's certainly an option to integrate Office with Sharepoint for
so-called "collaboration" features.
