File Size becomes Zero! All Data Disappeared!!! Pls Help

Hi,
I have a strange issue. lease help me..

All my office Xp files in my computer (Word, Excel, And powerpPoint files)
has became zero size and no data inside from yesterday.

Any idea about this issue?
Can I rtreve these file back?
Is this a virus?
Atleast how can I protect my other PCs office files in it which also in the
same network?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is already activated. If it is not activated, do you mean to say
my file contents will disappear and become zero size??

A few years back our company had a virus that would replace most
office documents with zero size files. Recovering the files with difficult,
but I think some tools advertised they could do it.
