File size not logical

I have an htm page that is 55KB. I took out 2 large
graphics, and it is still 55KB. I closed the file and
reopened it and it is still 55KB. It is now very much
like other pages, only with LESS graphics. But these other
pages are only 6 to 18 KB. In fact, the one of 18KB has
MANY more graphics. Why is this file larger?

When you are looking at the file size using "Detail view"
in Folder view, the size reported for a htm file such as index.htm
does not include the graphics, only the html in the page.
This is because the graphics are contained in another folder,
and are "loaded" into the page by the link you have created
using "Insert Picture"
Images are not "embedded" in html pages, they are displayed
in the page. Therefore "removing" them from the page merely
removes the links and will have very little effect on the "file size"
of the page in question.

I can't upload it to my web site. I can only upload 1 or
2 files at the time - no larger than 50 KB total. I get
the message, "Server unexpectedly closed the connection."
That is why I am questioning the size. Any other
suggestions? Thanks for responding

How are you uploading, does the remote server have the FP extensions?
Have you contact your ISP and/or Host regarding this limitation?
