Where does Groove put the files that go to make up a workspace ? Ehen I
create a workspace, and add files to that workspace from my local hard
drive, using drag and drop, does groove create additional copies of those
files ? where are the stored ? are the links to the "original files"
broken...

Groove data is stored in 3 locations, which we can specify when we install
Groove:
1. Program location: Stores Groove program, dlls and other utilities for
Groove. The default location is: C:\Program Files\Groove Networks\Groove
[Note: The programs and utilities will be stored in bin subfolder]
2. User Data location: Store user related data: Mainly stores User account
information. The default location is: C:\Documents and Settings\[User
name]\Local Settings\Application Data\Groove Networks\Groove
3. System Data location: Groove stores data for workspaces in local
databases [in this location]. Some of this data, such as files in the Groove
Files tool, Pictures tool, or Discussion tool where entries contain file
attachments, is stored on disk as binary files. Starting in version 1.2,
Groove began to store all such files in a single location called the Binary
File Store. The default location is: C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Groove Networks\Groove

The binary files are stored in the following location: C:\Documents and
Settings\All Users\Application Data\Groove
Networks\Groove\Permanent\groovebinaryfilestore.xss_

Carey,

Is is still possible to modify these paths under Groove 2007?

I did not notice an option to do this when I installed it on my 2 test boxes
and was a bit disappointed because I have used this option on several
desktoips running 3.1 to make sure all the data files were located on a large
secondary drive. This helpes increase system performance and allowed me to
locat my data inside a folder structure that is already being backed up
nightly (saving me from having to create yet another backup schedule!)
