I had previously set up a DB file as a synched copy between three computers
(I think the primary is my home desktop, and then the laptop and work desktop
get copies in a briefcase). I now have reached a point where I get a
MaxLockPerFile somethingorother message when it tries to synch. I saw that
one way to overcome this was by changing the registry setting for this.
First question, where do I find it? I searched my registry and it didn't
find the name. Also, if someone does know where it is, please comment on
what the potential ramifications are of changing the setting (I saw that RAM
is used more, but I don't care about that so much...just don't want other
programs to be screwed up). Second question is whether there is a way to NOT
have the synching require one to be a master and the others synchs, as it
sounds like that was the thing that forces this error to begin with. I was
not really sure what the master/synch setting actually gives me, if anything
at all.
Thx for any help.
