File Tab does not work

when i try to open the File Tab it wont open it it just
appears anmessage: "Microsoft Word has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience.

Error Signature:

AppName: winword.exe AppVer: 10.0.5815.0 ModName:
winword.exe
ModVer: 10.0.5815.0 Offset: 002d00cc


is anything i can do??

I remove the progam twice and still does the same thing.
I check the disk and it does not have any
problems...running word 2002

Are you referring to the 'File Tab' in the File Open or File Save dialogs or
are you just referring to the File Menu button?
