file wont close so I can close the program down

While using Microsoft office access 2000 program I tried to close it down and
it would not close the file I had created. the computer would not let me
close it or even the computer would not close.

Can you offer any more information? Any Windows, Microsoft, or Access errors
that popped up? Usually, if the system won't close, it will give you a
sometimes cryptic error message, to say why.
